The weather warming up provides the perfect opportunity to turn a regular day into a burst of color and laughter.
This is a playful twist on the classic water fight. The twist? Colored water. Everyone is assigned their own color , making it easy to see who is tagging who, and it turns the whole event into a vibrant, fun filled competition.
If you have more people than colors make it a team effort! Everyone on the same team would have the same colored water. Embrace a little mess and before you know it, you’re making memories and laughing at the unexpected chaos of dodging and spraying.

Gather Supplies
First things first, you’ll need a crisp white shirt, a water gun (or two), and a different color washable paint for each person participating. Craft stores generally have these plain white tees for a fraction of what you would expect. Did you guess that I was going to say Dollar Tree for the paint and water guns. We also used some safety glasses to make sure nobody got sprayed in the eyes.

Most importantly, outside.
Set up outside. You will want somewhere that provides enough space to run around – a driveway, a back yard, a field, etc. You may also want to take into consideration the age of who is playing.
If you are setting up for older kids, a playground might be more fun as it provides hiding spots and obstacles to work around.
Once you have your spot outside picked, it’s time to fill the water guns. Use the washable paint to tint the water and pre-fill the water guns so they are ready to go. It’s also helpful to pre-make cups of each color water for when there is a refill needed mid water fight.
That’s pretty much it! Super simple and a great time. You can even keep the shirts as souvenirs when the match is done if you want. I definitely still wear mine around the house and the boys get a laugh anytime they see it.

I have not tried this yet, so don’t quote me, but I *think* if you used glow in the dark washable paint this might be pretty fun at as the sun sets.
