The line between Easter dinner and Sunday dinner is thin in my kitchen. So to make sure this menu was extra special I doubled up on just about everything.

  • 2 dinner rolls
  • 2 starters
  • 2 sides
  • 2 desserts
  • and smoked turkey wings

I love being able to curate a space for the people I love to come together and spend time recharging. Hosting and cooking both hold a special place in my heart so when I get a chance to do both, I do the most.

The Menu

Let’s Chat

Without a doubt, I’m giving this honor to the croissant swirls. I’m a little bread biased, but these did not require much effort and came out tasting delicious and looking pretty impressive. Definitely Front Runners.

I used prepackaged croissant rolls and spread them with cream cheese. Then rolled, cut and topped with scallions and toasted sesame seeds before baking.

Close Second

Also coming close to the top spot was the Split Decision Pound Cake.

Half of this pound cake was Peach Cobbler and the other half was Lemon Berry. I flavored the batter on the Lemon Berry half with a little extra lemon extract and added in swirls of cinnamon on the Peach Cobbler side. I basted the cake while it was still warm in a simple syrup and dusted it in powdered sugar.

Not many, but there is this one and a video a little further down 🙂

-If I made this menu again I would omit the cornbread. There were plenty left over after people got a hold of the croissant swirls.

-I would also swirl a lemon curd throughout the lemon berry side of the pound cake. The berries were there but the lemon extract didn’t carry all of the citrus flavor I was looking for.

-Lastly, I would absolutely take broccolini prepared like this over regular broccoli any day.

Parboiled broccolini gets finished cooking in a hot garlic butter with fresh lemon zest and juice.
