We have had a few snow days in a row and activities are dwindling around the home front. But I happened to have a few things laying around that ended up being all we needed:
Poster boards. Magazines. Breakfast Food. Scissors & Glue. Glass Beads.
Now that last one is just me doing the most, you really don’t need those – lol pieces of paper will work just the same.
So on our third snow day, we made vision boards! With breakfast sandwiches in hand and magazines spread across the table, we spent the morning dreaming big and setting goals.
To make things even more interesting, I made some conversation stones. These are little stones with prompts or questions written on them—things like “What’s one thing you want to accomplish this year?” or “What’s the best advice you ever received?” We pulled them at random, sparking some fun and thoughtful discussions. Again, I was being extra. These questions can just as easily be written on slips of paper.

You’re going to want to gather magazines you don’t mind cutting up. I have a few subscriptions so we usually have a few laying around but if you are planning in advance and need to get magazines check at dollar stores, thrift stores, or libraries. These locations typically will let them go for a price you wont cry about cutting up.
You’ll also need poster boards, scissors, and glue (Get sticks. Thank me later.)

The perfect space for us was the kitchen table. It provided enough space to lay everything out without overlapping as well as doubled as the place we would be eating.
I made breakfast sandwich sliders on mini croissants and put the conversation stones in the center of the table to get us started.
We spent the morning laughing and talking over our boards. One of my favorite parts of the morning was how relaxed it felt. Snowed in, in pajamas, with no right or wrong way to do it—just a table full of food, magazines, and open conversation.

That’s really all there is to it! This could be a great tradition to start for New Year’s breakfast.
An intentional way to reflect, reset, and visualize for the year ahead. Take time to set goals , spend time, and make a vision board that serves as a reminder to keep those goals on your mind throughout the year.
